This crazy summer heat and humidity has made getting dressed up for a special occasion or night out absolutely dreadful! I’ve always been a no-fuss kind of girl when it comes to what I wear, but this summer weather has had me wanting to stay home with the A/C on full blast dressed in comfy “round the house” gear.

On those days when I do manage to find the motivation to get dolled up, a flowy dress — like the tunic-style version I’m wearing here — is one of my go-to looks. With this heat, rocking a big statement necklace or a massive cuff bracelet is out the question (I’m sweating right now just thinking about it). I keep the jewelry minimal with a delicate chain necklace and layer a couple of small bracelets. When it comes to heels, I’m finding that simple ankle strap sandals are much easier to wear in extreme heat than lace-up sandals — this pair that I scored on major sale from Nordstrom Rack earlier this summer are in heavy rotation.

Since the color scheme with this black-and-white ensemble was pretty tame, I added a pop of color with a matte hot pink lip and some print courtesy of my new favorite leopard clutch.

Keep it stylish,
