6 Swoon-Worthy NYFW Beauty Looks

New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is not only a time for us to covet next season’s looks and trends, but also a time to get inspired by high-fashion beauty looks (some of which you can re-create at home). While runway hair and makeup tend to push the envelope, you can totally make many of these beauty looks work for the real world. And there’s nothing wrong with stepping outside of your standard beauty routine and spicing up your make-up look.

Remember, fashion week is always a season ahead. So even though designers are showing their best spring/summer fashion and beauty looks for next year right now (just as this summer comes to a close), I can totally see myself rocking many of the looks throughout the fall/winter seasons.

Here, I’ve picked some of my fave make-up looks from straight off the NYFW runways — and explain why they give me sooooo much life:

NYFW Spring 2016
Top: Altuzarra, Bottom: Betsey Johnson (Photos: Vogue.com)

Altuzarra: Peach is a flattering shade on many skin tones and I love it in the form of eyeshadow and lipstick. For this collection, the eyes do all the talking and are complemented with a strong brow, while the rest of the face is natural and bare.

Betsey Johnson: A bold red lip and smoky eye are the perfect combo for going glam with a dramatic flair, but this beauty look takes it to the next level with an intense inner-eye corner highlight.

Top: Christian Siriano, Bottom: Diane von Furstenberg (Photos: Vogue.com)

Christian Siriano: “Project Runway’s” best known winner chose a lip color that blended flawlessly with his models’ complexion. Finding the perfect lip shade that matches your skintone can help make just about any eyeshadow stand out.

Diane von Furstenberg: Pastels are no stranger to spring, but adding a metallic finish gives girly a new kick. Using silver shadow in the center of the eyelid adds dimension.

Top: Creatures of the Wind, Bottom: Prabal Gurung (Photos: Vogue.com)

Creatures of the Wind: Winged eyeliner is the best thing to happen to makeup since mascara. For this show, instead of lining the top lid, the waterline is heavily lined and the wing sprouts up from the bottom.

Prabal Gurung: Strobing and adding highlight in the right places can bring warmth to any face. They added a tone complimenting highlight on the eyelids, cupids bow and forehead.

Love, peace and beauty,
