The Look for Less: “House of Cards” Claire Underwood

I may or may not have watched season three of House of Cards in less than 48 hours this past weekend — don’t judge, it’s just that good. The keep-you-on-your-toes plot twists and the fashion . . . the FASHION . . . are addictive! Claire Underwood has to be one of the best dressed TV characters around right now. I’d even argue that she tops Olivia Pope in the style department.

Season three of the Netflix thriller gives us more of Claire’s timeless fashion looks: curve-hugging sheaths, tailored midi-length pencil skirts, belted coats, and a never-ending collection of Manolo and Louboutin heels. But my jaw dropped — yes, literally dropped — when she sauntered into the chapter 29 episode dressed in a silver Ralph Lauren Collection Silk Valentina Gown (pictured below) ready to smooze alongside her hubby POTUS at a White House dinner.

When I tell you that she slayed in this dress like no one else could . . . *passes out* . . . *comes back to life*. . . she slayeddddd!!! Even my fiance’, who was binge-watching with me, had to give her props. That goes-with-everything metallic silver color paired with a bare back and super dramatic floor-length draped neckline was amazing.

So, of course, I had to search the Internet for a few budget-friendly alternatives for fashionistas wanting to recreate Claire’s eye-catching look without having to fork over a couple grand.

Here are six similar dress options (you can add a long silver scarf of your own for some added oomph) for under $300:
