Favorite Fall Trend: Deeper Shades of Red

Every season I turn to Pantone for some expert insight on color trends in the fashion world. For fall/winter 2014, jewel tones are back in a major way from from pale purples to buttery yellows to royal blues. But, perhaps, my favorite hue is deep, dark red. Pantone specifically calls out Sangria and Aurora Red as the must-have shades this season, which they describe as:

“Sangria, an exotic red that evokes a sense of glamorous adventures and faraway destinations is enhanced by Aurora Red, a more sophisticated shade that adds verve and spark.”

The great thing about deeper red shades is that they translate easily from fashion to beauty. Whether it’s an oxblood leather pleated skirt or a creamy wine nail lacquer, they’re super chic without a ton of effort.
