Oscars 2013: The Best and Worst Dressed

The 85th annual Academy Awards went down last night at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. While the style-obsessed (us included) were strapped to their couches for three hours of nonstop red carpet coverage, overall the fashion was pretty underwhelming. While there were lots of gorgeous dresses, most decided to play it safe.

The trends of the night included lots of poofy gowns that didn’t quite work (Jennifer LawrenceΒ and Jennifer Aniston), flesh tones (which sadly left many looking washed out — we’re looking at you Amanda SeyfriedΒ and Amy Adams) and loads of sparkle (two of our best-dressed picks wowed in glittery frocks).

Here’s a rundown of our top three best and worst dressed celebs — and some honorable mentions:
