When it comes to shapewear, a pair of Spanx are a girl’s best friend. Their undies, bras and body-shapers will help smooth out any problem areas making the most form-fitting dress or pants in your closet look picture perfect on.
You used to could only purchase the shapewear from major department stores and mass retailers such as Nordstrom, Target and CUSP. In just three days, however, that’ll change. The first ever Spanx store opens its doors at Tysons Corner Center Mall in the Washington, D.C., area on Friday, November 2 at 10 a.m.
Shoppers will have access to the brand’s complete line, which includes slimming apparel, activewear and swimsuits, all in one place. “We want to provide fans with an intuitive, interactive way to shop all of our products, exceptional one-on-one service and a fun, shopping experience,” says Spanx founder Sara Blakely. “Our stores will be a place where women can come together and be honest about the help they might need knowing we’re all in this together — a place where everyone knows your name and your bra size!”
The first 100 shoppers will receive free Spanx goodies. Additional shoppers will be chosen at random throughout the day to receive shaping spree cards ranging from $10 to $100. There will also be store openings in the weeks ahead at the King of Prussia Mall in King of Prussia, Penn., and Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, N.J.
