The fashion that made its way down the red carpet at the 71st annual Golden Globe Awards was an even mix of hits and misses. Some of the night’s biggest trends included sleek curve-hugging gowns, rich jewel tones (think: oxblood, navy and emerald green), chic neutrals (think: white, cream, beige and black) and lots of embellishments (think: sequins, crystals, fringe and embroidery).
The celebrities who consistently show up and show out every awards show season, such as Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Charlize Theron, were nowhere to be found. However, there were a couple of red carpet newcomers (two words: Lupita Nyong’o) that helped up the style ante. And, of course, there were some celebs whose looks weren’t quite right.
