What I Bought…

Remember when I mentioned a while back that there would be a few new features to come? Well, today here’s one of them, “What I Bought…” It’s a monthly peek at the clothing, shoe and accessory items that I’ve been coveting recently and had to have. Check out the details below to get the scoop on why these particular pieces were must-haves for me and where to buy.

What I Bought... March 25

THE DETAILS:

1RACHEL Rachel Roy Shirley Dress: The sheer black sleeves, contrast paneling and just-above-the-knee length of this dress led me to stalk the Rachel Roy site for three weeks until it went on sale. I just couldn’t rationalize paying the original price of $129. Luckily, there was a 40% off sale online about a month ago, and since they still had my size I didn’t hesitate to snatch it up (and it’s just as fabulous in-person as it looks in the above pic). I ended up paying about $70 for it including tax and shipping. I think this dress would be great for a dressy date night or a daytime wedding if worn with the right shoes and accessories. It’s no longer available online — but try calling your local Macy’s, which carries the RACHEL Rachel Roy line, to see if it’s still in-stock.

2Ivanka Trump Meadea Sandal: Every spring/summer season, I usually try to update my shoes with both a neutral and a “funky” pair of sandals. I saw these beauties on sale for $65 (marked down from $135) over at Piperlime.com and immediately pulled the trigger. The bright coral straps and snake print heel add some feminine flair, but the thicker black strap across the ankle toughens them up a bit — which helps make them feel modern and chic. These will be really cute with an LBD (obviously!), some tailored shorts or a midi-length skirt. They’re still available at Zappos.com.

3Vince Camuto Women’s Skinny Ankle Pant in Aqua Ice: So, there’s a TJ Maxx near my job that I occasionally pop into while I’m either on my lunch break or on the way home. On one of those random visits a couple weeks ago, I spotted these pants. If you’re curvier on the bottom — as I am — finding a pair of cropped slim fit pants that actually fit (i.e., you can get them over your hips) happens few and far between. When I tried these on, the fit was perfection and at $34.99 (marked down from $79) that meant they were coming home with me. I can’t wait to color-block with these for spring. You can still purchase them in the Aqua Ice shade on Amazon.com. They’re also available in purple on VinceCamuto.com.

4Tinley Road Geralyn Bag:  Full disclosure — I’m kind of obsessed with Celine’s Luggage Tote, but at $1,700 (and up) it’s wayyyyyy out of my budget (seriously, that’s a month’s rent for some folks). I don’t usually do “it” bags, but this is one I can see being around years from now. While perusing Piperlime — again — I saw this Tinley Road bag and thought it had some similar features to the Celine tote (the extended sides, specifically), but that it also didn’t look like a complete knock-off, so I got it (it cost $65.99) — under the condition that if it did, in fact, look like a complete knock-off it was going back. Luckily, it doesn’t and I love it. The olive and taupe color-blocking is divine and I can see this being one of my everyday bags for work. It’s still available on Piperlime.

That’s it for now and I’ll be sharing more with you guys next month! In the meantime, are there any items you’re coveting or new buys you can’t wait to rock when the weather warms up? Share in the comments.

Keep it stylish,

Andrea, S&P Founder and Editor
