Accessory Fiends, Unite!

1 Nov

When Anthropologie announced that it was opening it’s first ever accessories-only store (GASP!) in Washington, D.C., would-be style mavens, bloggers, fashion and home decor insiders, and fans of the original retail chain took to the Internet to revel in the stylish news.

The boutique opened on Oct. 29 and S&P got a chance to check out the goods — and we liked it . . . a lot!

Anthropologie's first ever all-accessories shop

Anthropologie's first ever all-accessories shop carries many of the same items found on their web site.

The visual merchandising hit the mark with racks of vibrant statement necklaces, shoes – from riding boots to platform pumps — lining the shelves, perfectly stacked beaded clutches, wool scarves and hats casually hung on coat racks. Talk about eye candy!

The store’s layout looks as if you’ve stepped inside a well-stocked (organized and decorated) accessories closet of some fabulous fashionista, like a Carrie Bradshaw or Kimora Lee Simmons — complete with a lounge area and chic reads on a coffee table.

Many of the items found in the store are available online with prices ranging from the budget-friendly, such as their  Whirly Twirly Clutch at $28, to pricier items like a pair of Winding Buckle Boots at $378.
