Mulberry for Target: Hit or Miss?

The fashion blogosphere has been a buzz for the last week in anticipation of the October 10 debut of the Mulberry for Target handbag collection. The line is the latest in Target’s series of designer collaborations.

The British lifestyle brand is known for its luxe leather handbags and accessories for women and men. And those familar with their high-end line will agree that the mere thought of cost-friendlier versions of their Bayswater and Alexa bags was mind-blowing.

But — dare we say it? Something about this recent mass retail/designer collabo seems . . . amiss.

Remember the printed dresses and tops in the Tucker collection? To die for. And the jewelry pieces from Temple St. Clair are ladylike and sure to get you a couple of admirers.  Not to mention the shear pandemonium Zac Posen caused earlier this year when it was announced that he, too, was teaming up with Tar-zhay.

The hot pink leopard print, navy denim and faux leather bags from Mulberry for Target, however, have left us wanting more.

YOUR THOUGHTS: Have you checked out the collection? What did you think? Talk about it in the comments area.

  1. I was a little disapointed with the early rollout in stores which led to none being available yesterday on the official launch. What’s the point of that besides frustrated customers? Kinda disapointed with this one…:)
