As fall trends start to pop up in stores, a new crop of high-end-turned-mass-retail-designers are debuting just in time for autumn’s fashion haul.
A Touch of Presidential Style
As a designer, you know you’ve hit the mark when the first lady puts your clothes in regular rotation. And for Isabel Toledo, she found herself in that lucky position when Michelle Obama appeared in her iconic lemongrass brocade sheath dress with matching overcoat at the 2009 Presidential Inauguration.
Earlier this year, Payless Shoe Source announced a partnership with the designer, bringing budget-savvy shoppers a low-priced line of stylish shoes and handbags.
Shoppers will find a variety of styles from shoe boots to d’orsay pumps to embellished flats. The color palette is classic with shades of black, red and silver, making the pieces easy to mix-and-match with some of the seasons trendier hues. The shoe collection is available now online and hits stores on September 7 (with handbags to follow). Prices range from $35 to $60.
Get Noticed, Go Bold
If you love bold prints (in fun florals and geometric shapes), Tucker by Gaby Sabora is the clothing line to watch. For the girl on the go — whether it’s a business lunch or drinks with the girls or a date night — the blouson tops, flowy dresses and skirts, for which Tucker is known, transition well and look modern.
For the budget-conscious shoppers who’ll be checking out New York Fashion Week to gawk at the couture designs, you can breathe a sigh of relief – because there’s something you’ll actually be able to buy. Tucker will debut its GO! International line with the popular discount retailer Target on September 12, which is midway through the week-long fashion extravaganza.
The discounted line features wardrobe staples like airy blouses, flirty dresses – and even a chic jumpsuit. Prices will range from $19.99 to $79.99. Get a sneak peek at some of the Tucker for Target pieces here.
