The Look for Less: Political Style
With the 2008 presidential election less than 24 hours away, it seemed only right to do a somewhat politically-themed post. Last week, we focused on outerwear trends and revamped an outfit worn by R&B songstress Mary J. Blige. This time around, Stylin’ & Profilin’ takes a look at Michelle Obama — a style star in her own right and wife of democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama.
Without a doubt the lady has style — lots of it. And since her husband announced his presidential bid back in February 2007, Michelle has brought sophistication and glamour back to the cookie cutter world of American political style.
She’s been noted online and in magazines for her impeccable choice of threads. And if you love fashion, one can only wonder how much fun it would be to watch her style on ‘em for the next four years in Washington.
Here is S&P’s take on Michelle Obama’s infamous Maria Pinto dress (shown above) worn earlier this year at the Democratic National Convention — fabulous, indeed!
